Greek National School of Dance
The State School of Dance, directed by the internationally famous dancer Daphnis Kokkinos, presents -in its first collaboration with the Olympia Theatre a unique dance show with new works by Greek choreographers, with the participation of students of the School.
The first Professional School of Dance in Greece was founded in 1937 by Koula Pratsika. In 1973, the always curious and radical creator and great teacher offered her School to the Greek State, and that is how the story of the State School of Dance (KSOT) began. The majority of Greek professionals who have established careers in Greece, Europe, the Americas and Asia originally come from it. Through the spirit of constant renewal, the KSOT follows a steady course upwards, being an example of an educational institutioin and an internationally famous centre of the arts.
