Athens Big Band
Charismatic bassist and orchestrator Nikos Chatzisakos collaborates with the Athens Big Band and soloists Eleni Ermina Sofou (vocals) and Dimitris Tsakas (alto saxophone) to present his arrangements of popular jazz tunes. Just as an ingenious director repurposes the storytelling of an older play within a contemporary narrative, Nikos Chatzitsakos bridges the African American jazz tradition with the classic jazz repertoire exploring contemporary aesthetics and soundscapes.
