The legendary building on Akadimias Street, which housed the Greek National Opera for more than 50 years, is now the City Theatre of Athens. A new era has begun for the Olympia Theatre, but also for the whole city. Athens acquired once again its own City Theatre, the Olympia City Music Theatre “Maria Callas”.

The Music Ensembles of the City of Athens, the Symphony Orchestra, the Chorus, the Workshop of Greek Music, the Big Band and the Philharmonic Orchestra, welcome the public to their musical home with an amazing program of concerts. By collaborating with distinguished artists they promise to excite even the most demanding audience of every musical genre.

The new City Theatre of Athens, the emblematic place of culture with its rich history, is re-establishing itself in the cultural events of the city, promoting modern culture, supporting new creators, cultivating collaborations.

The Olympia Theatre hosts in the renovated foyer of the first floor, the first permanent exhibition in the country for Maria Callas, with personal items and documents from the life and the work of the great opera diva.
